[The Presidential Blog] Does the Acting President need to take some time off to mourn?

Until Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s condolence message to Alhaji Maitama Sule’s family, we didn’t think there was any vacuum for genuineness in all the commiseration and condolence messages that go around the Nigerian media once a VIP passes on.

The Acting President was one of the first people to express sorrow at the passing of the former diplomat and elder statesman on Monday, taking time out to post a social media message even while he was attending the 29th Ordinary session of the African Union in Ethiopia.

This was before the official condolence message and before he flew out to Kano to spend some time with the departed’s family yesterday.

But in all of these, it was this single tweet that got to us the most:

Maybe we should give the man a 3-hour time-out to let him mourn his role model.

Yes, 3 hours because this country can no longer be left without a head of government, thanks to Senator Abaribe.
