[The Presidential Blog] The Federal Government is opening something new in Owerri

The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), a regulatory arm of the Ministry of Environment is currently opening up a new zonal office in Owerri, Imo.

The agency, headed by Dr Chidi Anukam, is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the protection and development of the environment, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development of Nigeria’s natural resources including the development and maintenance of environmental technology.

Today’s event in Owerri is the commissioning of the South East zonal office located in Owerri. It will also serve as the agency’s State office.

MeanwhiLe, according to the Minister of Information, the Federal Government is still searching – after 6 months of the court order – for a location to build an apartment for Ibrahim Elzakzaky.
