A Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor was on Sunday, kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The kidnap victim, Pastor Ayo Raphael was abducted during the Sunday service at the Resurrection parish of the RCCG in Kabba junction in Lokoja, Kogi.
According to eyewitnesses, about 10 kidnappers besieged the church auditorium at about 9am and ordered the congregation to lie down, facing the ground.
An eyewitness was quoted to have said: “The pastor was dragged out of the church into the bush while the abductors shot sporadically into the air to facilitate their escape.”
Punch reports that the kidnappers have already contacted the church to demand for N50m to facilitate the pastor’s release.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Police spokesperson, William Aya, said he was yet to be apprised of the development.
