Singer, Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon known as Reekado Banks has said that he started music as a way of getting away from the boredom that came after his secondary school days.
He said this in an interview with Punch, adding that he used to write “poems, rap lyrics, among other things”, and later graduated to singing.
The 23-year-old singer said his parents have always supported him, as his father even paid for his first music session.
He also said his father asked him never to leave Jesus and he has had no choice other than to take the advice.
He said, “Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. I have a good relationship with Jesus.”
Reekado Banks describes the Mavins as family and he is “happy to be a part of it,” adding that there is no form of rivalry between him, Korede Bello and Di’ja.
Apart from music, he said he is currently building a secondary school, working on a plantation and he has lots of lands.
On the kind of girl that catches his fancy, he said, “I like a girl who is beautiful, inside and out. The outer beauty is usually the point of attraction.”
