Remember this Nollywood actress? She is back with ‘Range Rover’ drama

by Damilola Jagun

Remember Ruth Kadiri, the budding Nollywood actress, who recently released some sexually-aggressive photos?  Well, she is back in the news.

The ‘Ladies gang’ actress recently acquired a ‘Range Rover SUV’ automobile, and after sharing pictures of the car on her Instagram page, people were quick to cast aspersions that she must have gotten the car from a benevolent lover, considering the fact that she’s only been in the industry for a minute.

And since Nollywood is not exactly paying millions of naira to upcoming actresses, hell, even hundreds of thousands, it was only natural that questions of the source of the money she used to purchase the automobile, would pop up

Kadiri obviously didn’t find it funny, as she felt the need to release a statement to say she bought the Range Rover with her own money.

Her representative reportedly said, “Ruth bought the Range herself. Check out the list of young actresses in the industry, none has the repertoire  of work as much as Ruth. She is about the only actress busy in both ‘old and ‘new’ Nollywood, she has been consistently generating income and ploughing her money back into the business of film making and other business ventures. She has financed two movies of her own; her movie, Plantain Girls was the first Nollywood movie on African Magic Box Office.”

She also criticised the school of thought which believes that behind the success of a woman is the fat purse of a rich man.
“It is high time we stop crediting every success of young, hard working ladies to men. So sorry, if I have to say this, girls are not dumb or second class citizens that will always have to wait for ‘left-over’ from men before they can have decent ‘living’ of sort,” she added.
