This is why Rihanna cancelled her Grammy Awards performance

Rihanna was scheduled to perform ‘Kiss It Better’ off her Anti album during Monday night’s Grammy Awards, but she was forced to cancel her performance.

TMZ reports that Rihanna had rehearsed and prepared for the show, but subsequently canceled her performance due to health reasons.

The singer is reported to be battling with bronchitis and she had been warned by her doctors that performing at the Grammy Awards would put her vocal chord at risk of a damage.

Although Rihanna desperately wanted to perform, the doctor who examined her during rehearsal, was said to have put her on vocal rest for 48 hours.

A representative of Rihanna said the Barbadian singer took antibiotics for three days leading up to the show, but they failed to work.

The rep said she “was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords.” She had been taking antibiotics for three days, but they “did not kill the infection adequately.”
