#RioOlympics: Spain defeats Nigeria 96 – 87

Spain defeated Nigeria’s basketball team, D’Tigers 96-87 to win their first game in the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The World number two team started the game on fire as they made it hard for the D’Tigers to shoot winning the first quarter 25-11.

D’Tigers game back strong in the second quarter outscoring Spain by 12 points as the quarter ended Nigeria 41 – Spain 43. Ben Uzoh scored 8 points.

Nigeria came into the third quarter with much confidence as Chamberlain Oguchi led the fight as the quarter ended Nigeria 77 – Spain 81.

Oguchi continued his fine form as he ended the game with 24 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and made 7 out of 12 three-point shots.

Nigeria will face Croatia in game 4 on Sunday by 2:30am and host Brazil on Monday by 6:15pm.
