Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya who met with Donald Trump Jr June 2016 has said she is ready to testify before Congress to end what she termed “mass hysteria” about the meeting, Reuters reports.
Trump Jr. agreed to meet Veselnitskaya last year to meet, a woman he was told was a Russian government lawyer ready to dish dirt out on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, in a series of emails he released on Twitter.
Veselnitskaya has said she is a private lawyer, and she never any obtained damaging information about Clinton, and that she had no ties with the Russian government.
In an interview with Russia’s RT TV channel, she said Tuesday; “I’m ready to clarify the situation behind this mass hysteria but only through lawyers or testifying in the Senate”.
Russia has repeatedly denied allegations that Moscow interfered in the presidential campaign and also had ties to the Trump campaign.
