Sao Paulo’s vice president, Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes, has confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain, have contacted the club with a €45 million deal for Lucas Moura.

The 19-year-old midfielder is being courted by Manchester United, who have already put in a bid, but it is understood that PSG’s offer is bigger.

“We have been probed by PSG about Lucas,” Lopes told newspaper Le 10 Sport. “Leonardo has a very good relationship with Sao Paulo,” he said. “But, for now, nothing is definite.”

Although speculations claim that it is a done deal, Lopes had firmly denied this, stating that the final decision is up to the player.

“The possibility [of a move to Paris] exists, but it is down to the player’s interests,” he said. “The policy of Sao Paulo is to follow the desires of the player.”

“If the player wishes to leave, Sao Paulo will not create any obstacle. But we must receive a proposal that is appropriate.

“It’s a financial issue. Paris Saint-Germain is a big club in European football, and if the player’s interests and also the club’s are met, I do not see why it would not happen.”
