Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) and See Africa Differently are delighted to announce the Bull Doff as the winner of the See Africa Differently competition. The competition was run online in collaboration with AFWL to find a winner to showcase in the second edition of Africa Fashion Week London taking place on 3-4 August, 2012 at London Spitalfields Market.
Baay Sooley and Laure Tarot, owners of the Bull Doff brand and also winners of the Dakar Sira Vision 2012 Young Designer competition, come from the world of art, having worked in the fields of music, photography and contemporary art before they encountered the creative universe of fashion. Their brand Bull Doff has its origin in urban fashion. Baay and Laure will be joining the line up of up and coming and established designers to showcase in front of 20,000 guests at Africa Fashion Week London.
“As a global platform for African fashion, we aim to make Africa Fashion Week London as diverse as possible and partnering with See Africa Differently, we wanted to give an opportunity to designers in parts of Africa who would not otherwise have the chance to attend,” said Ronke Ademiluyi, founder and CEO of Africa Fashion Week. “Choosing the winner was a challenge as all the finalists proved very worthy, and we look forward to Bull Doff showcasing their designs on the AFWL runway.”
