Rick Ross sued by Cross River State government for cancelled concert

The Nigerian government has allegedly sued, US hip hop artist, Rick Ross for cancelling a concert earlier this year and failing to pay the performance fees.

Ross was scheduled to perform at the Calabar Festival in Nigeria’s Cross River State, but suddenly cancelled for unspecified reasons. He also failed to notify the festival organisers that he would no longer be performing, and was expected to reimburse the cost of his performance, which had already been transferred to his bank account.

 The Cross River State government have hired lawyers in the US to sue ‘Rozay’ for breach of contract.

Sports star Michael Jordan engaged

 NBA legend, Michael Jordan has been off the court for years; now, he’s off the market too. The sports star is getting married again, his publicist Estee R. Portnoy confirmed on Thursday 29, December. Jordan and long-time girlfriend, Yvette Prieto, got engaged on Christmas Day.

Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six championships — two three-peats — in the 1990s, before finishing his career with the Washington Wizards in 2003. He retired twice — the first time to play baseball, the second time to be with his family. Jordan and then-wife, Juanita divorced in 2006 after 17 years of marriage. In 2007, Forbes Magazine listed Jordan’s divorce as the costliest in celebrity history with a severance package exceeding $150 million. A wedding date for Jordan and Prieto has not been announced.

Mercy Johnson is Google most searched celebrity in Nigeria

One actress who made so much news in the year 2011 is delectable screen goddess, Mercy Johnson. In the year under review, she got married and was adjudged the best actress at the Afro-Australian Music and Movies Award (AAMMA) which is the only African award event in the whole of Australia and New Zealand. The award recognized Mercy Johnson as Africa’s Queen of the screen which is a symbolic recognition.

The award was held at the Emmore Theatre in Sydney, Australia. Though Mercy Johnson was regrettably absent at the awards due to mixed up flight logistics, another Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot received the award on her behalf.

2Face denies Akon

 Following media reports that 2Face, Wizkid and P-Sqaure have been signed on to Akon’s Konvict Music, 2Face has debunked the story, saying it is false. Speaking through his media man, Bayo Omisere, 2Face said although he has maintained a fantastic relationship with Akon, there is however no existing contract whatsoever between them.
