Sunday EPL Roundup: Arsenal fail to capitalise on Tottenham’s loss against Manchester City

Despite Leicester City lifting the trophy yesterday, there was still all to play for on Sunday with Tottenham looking to seal second position on the league log while 3rd-placed Arsenal headed to Manchester City to put pressure on their north London rivals and secure their top 4 status.

The Sunday edition of the 37th match-day in the premier league kicked off at White Hart Lane as Spurs welcomed Southampton.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men hit the ground running with a composed finish from Heung Min-Son in the 16th minute. They were however, undone by an equalizing goal from Saints midfielder – Davis in the 32nd minute.

The Saints then went in search of a second goal in the second half which they got in the 72nd minute when Davis put the ball into the back of the net.

The game ended 2-1 in favour of Ronald Koeman‘s men putting Spurs in danger of losing their grip on second place.

In the other game at Anifield, Liverpool handed Watford a 2-0 defeat.

In the main game of the day, Manchester City shared the spoils with Arsenal as they failed to bag all 3 points after failing to hold on to the lead twice.

City came flying out of the block in the 8th minute through Sergio Aguero but their joy was cut short within two minutes as Oliver Giroud tied the scores converting a 10th minute corner.

In the 51st minute, De Bryune restored the citizens lead with a clinical strike from just outside the box to make it 2-1, only for Alexis Sanchez to equalize for the Gunners.

With this result, both sides will have to wait till the final weekend to know their champions league fate.
