It was an all round embarrassment for the AMAA organisers when the Obi Wali International Conference Center – the venue of the august event – lost power and suddenly went dark.
Worst of all, it was beamed live on NTA and the television station couldn’t even cover up the letdown with a well transitioned break.
This is beyond image-demeaning especially for a major award ceremony which looked like it was finally coming out of the shadows of Africa Magic Viewers Choice awards (AMVCA).
Dignitaries such as the host, Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, were present at the time the event suffered power outage.
