The trailer for Toyin Abraham’s “A Ghost And A Tout” has too many stars and we are not surprised

Toyin Abraham is either making star-studded comedies or featuring in one. After comedian-turned-filmmaker AY Makun perhaps, she’s accrued so much industry power in crafting films that run on comic fuel and bloated with stars. Her 2017 bombastic Yoruba comedy Alakada Reloaded, the third installment in the Alakada franchise, was drenched in star vanity and whatnot. So it’s no surprise that she’d would like to continue in that schtick.

First announced in February with a teaser, and with nothing particularly useful to glean from, her forthcoming film A Ghost And A Tout now has a trailer and it’s packed to the brim. Nollywood veteran actor Chiwetalu Agu, Yoruba actress Ronke Ojo, comedian Chigurl, Chioma Akpotha, and Femi Adebayo are all paraded in this schlock of a film. Instagram comic star Lasisi Elenu, dance goddess Kaffy, and controversial Snapchat-savvy celebrity Bobrisky make guest appearances.

With the trailer, more information is supplied. Toyin Abraham plays Isila, a young woman from the ghetto who encounters a ghost in need of her help to communicate with the people he left behind. Only her can see the ghost, mind you, which I think is marginally intriguing. At the ghost’s request, she becomes tangled in solving a murder mystery and her life takes an interesting turn. The trailer shines in the comical and ridiculous, and you can check it out below.
