#ThePlatform: All states have to be productive for Nigeria to progress – Adeosun

Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun has said for the country to make visible progress, the era where all the thirty-six states shared money gotten from oil must come to an end.

Adeosun said this on Monday while speaking at the May edition of governance and policy forum, The Platform, holding at The Covenant Christian Centre, Iganmu, Lagos.

The minister who spoke on the topic, “The Nigerian Economy” said all states must contribute their quota.

She said the Federal government is focused on building a country that no longer worries about the price of oil.

Adeosun said the federal government was engaging the use of technology to reduce the wage bill, adding that the cost of overhead had been reduced drastically.

The minister stated that areas where leakages abound are being blocked, such as the revenue collection of the Nigeria Customs Service and tax collection at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
