These 8 super-fans of #TheVoiceNigeria tell us what they will miss from the show

For some, Sunday nights will never remain the same because #TheVoiceNigeria provided that grace of a well spent family time, while for others it was a time to relax in front of their television sets to watch Nigeria show off the wealth of music talents it possessed.

Social media became a conversation square as it burned with comments about the contestants, judges and more.

We reached out to 8 super-fans of the show to tell us what they will miss about the reality singing competition – which ended on Sunday night with A’rese emerging winner.

This is what they said;

  1. Ebenezer

“I will miss Timi Dakolo‘s funny remarks after performances, Waje‘s stunning outfits, Nonso Bassey‘s electrifying performances, Brenda‘s show-stopping renditions and the quality production.”

2. Jeffrey

“Hmm. There are 5 things I will miss. The backup singers, the songs, the banter between judges, the suspense and the camaraderie among participants.”

3. Fatima

“I’ll miss Timi’s team especially Cornel. Timi’s Team members can actually sing. I know Timi and he sure knows his music. Seeing Timi’s team, you could see them grow. You know Timi and the way he would say ‘so your note was this your note was that’.”

“I’ll miss The Voice itself because of the fact was everybody on the show could sing. My problem with Nigerian talent hunt shows the band and everything is too embellished but in the Voice you can actually tell that these ones o they are actually coming to sing.”

“Another thing i will miss is Brenda’s energy. That girl can rock the stage. Brenda is in 2Baba’s team and i think she just just got lucky because at the end of it all, she is more of a performer than a musician. Her voice is okay but her energy made people continue to vote for her.

I will also miss Vivveyan and Armstrong; although they dropped him since but he could sing and remember he studied music abroad. I will miss his unique voice and the fact he brought rock to the show.

“I’ll miss the realness of the judges and the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by each coach. I mean they were friendly to each other because i used to watch The Voice UK and now they say Nigerian we over did it saying any small thing you’ll see Waje jumping and Timi is up and down but the show is Nigerian, it’s us and it won’t be original if the Judges actually sat down and were looking focused like the Oyinbo judges do. Menawhile It’s not like they are calm on a normal day, so why should they now be calm because they are on the Voice?”

4. Kemi

“I am quite sad as there is nothing to watch between 7 – 8:30pm anymore. I will miss seeing Chike, Waje’s different colourful outfits, the lovely renditions of the songs and of course the judges as they were actually very unique and fun in their different ways.”

5. Joachim

I’ll miss the show because the whole thing was very well done. Then the judges were all looking good; Waje in particular she slayed. The singing was really good and the back up vocals were solid. I like the way they interpreted a lot of things they were trying to do. That was really nice. You can see there was an advance production process going on and it was done in SA so you can see there was a difference there.  .

We also picked three people from our twitter community who told us what they’ll miss from the show.
