On Saturday, hours before the annual show OLIC began, complaints emerged on Twitter regarding the lack of safety of the event. Suspicion abounded that it would turn into a rape fest, considering the following: OLIC is a hood event, “awon goons” will be everywhere, it was going to hold at Teslim Balogun stadium and Yomi SARS (the symbol of everything that informed Twitter’s outrage against SARS) was billed to perform.
See below:
Boycott olic4 to protest against olamide having yomi SARS amongst artists to perform should be a thing. You people shouldn't be stupid.
First he couldn't support the movement.
Now he's giving you a slap by allowing yomi SARS play in his concert. SMH

It didn’t help that the most recent concert, Phynofest, was such a rape fest, Phyno had to segregate the women, saying ” women go the stands, I don’t understand what these men are up to.”
So panic spiralled on Twitter:
Lol …..going for Olic show as a female is just you going to put your hand inside fire literally .
This country is so unsafe .

It's like they need to be separating women from men. Put men inside cage & let women be free, if babe wants to dance with you she'll call you outside from the cage ? https://t.co/py4v5eboiE

As it turns out, OLIC was perfectly safe. All the security agencies in Nigeria were ably represented at the event and everyone had a fantastic time. We have a theory about this. The Lagos state government must have heard the cries on Twitter and being pro-women rights, chose the proactive route.
Here are testimonials from the event:
Okay!!! Lemme do a small thread about my experience at #OLIC4 , today. pic.twitter.com/FBmgl6YXqr
