TICKER: #AdamawaCrash: Danbaba Suntai flown to Germany

Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, who was involved in a  Cesna 208 5N-BMJ plane crash Thursday at the Yola Airport, was on Saturday, flown to Germany for treatment. The governor was moved out of the National Hospital, Abuja, where he was receiving treatment at about 3:30 pm today.

Vanguard gathered that injured governor was driven in an ambulance  to the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport into a waiting air ambulance to an undisclosed Germany hospital for ‘’intensive treatment.’’

The governor escaped death Thursday evening after a plane he was flying crashed near the Nigerian National Patrolmen Corporation, NNPC Depot in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

The governor, his aide-de-camp and chief security officer, who were also in the plane that took off from Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, and three others, were seriously injured. The plane, a Cessna 208, 5N-BMJ, crashed at about 7.45 pm is owned by the state government.

The governor, who was brought in unconscious, was first taken to Yola Specialist Hospital for treatment, but was later moved to the better-equipped Federal Medical Centre, Yola.

Hospital sources said the governor sustained an injury on his arm, head and abdomen. He was rushed into an ambulance provided by Nyako, to the German Medical Diagnostic Section of the Specialist Hospital, Yola. The other victims, including a white man, were taken to the FMC Yola.
