The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar has assured Nigerians of adequate security during the nation’s 52nd independence anniversary celebration.
The IGP said that Policemen, in collaboration with other security agencies are on ground to ensure security of lives and property. He gave the assurance at the Al-Hikman University Convocation in Ilorin, Kwara State where he received a honorary doctorate degree in public administration.
Abubakar said Nigeria’s security situation had improved, compared with the situation at the time he resumed office.
The police chief said arms and ammunition recovered in parts of the country were testimony of the progress made and reiterated the force’s commitment to ensure security of lives and property.
