A man from Nigeria was arrested in the Houston Airport for “possessing” enough heroin to send him to prison for a very long time. Sunday Ogbonu is accused of swallowing two pounds of heroin in order to get it on the market in the United States.
The 47-year old was arrested at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport this week and taken to the hospital where he sat on the toilet and released 65 latex pellets containing heroin. The man had kept the drugs inside his bowels for the entire flight, nearly killing him in the process.
The man is scheduled to appear before a judge this week. This is the second case that someone has been arrested in Houston for swallowing drugs on a flight from Africa. Another man from Tanzania was arrested in July. If one capsule were to burst, the man would die from an immediate overdose.
