#EndHunger protest: curfew placed in Kaduna, Bauchi, and Plateau as Lagos and other States resume business activities
Curfew was placed in Kaduna, Bauchi, and Plateau as Lagos, Edo, Delta, Niger, and Taraba States remained peaceful as business activities resumed in the states. In contrast, other states like Bauchi, Plateau, Abuja, Rivers, Osun, and Kaduna were chaotic as the people walked for the #EndHunger protest.
Although the number of protesters dwindled drastically over the weekend, there were still a small group of protesters who went about their protest peacefully at the Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Park in Ojota, and business hubs in Lagos were all open for business as they had once shut down their businesses due to the fear of looters.
The protesters in the northern part of Nigeria have been relentless as they keep defying their Governor’s orders of curfew and stepping out to protest and make their voices heard. Some of the northern protesters were found raising Russian flags and unleashed chaos under the aegis of the #EndBadGovernance protest.
Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, also imposed a 24-hour curfew in Katagum local government area after the violence in the state led to setting the local government secretariat ablaze.
