Trump blames Congress for tense relationship with Russia and no “health-care”

President Trump in one tweet blamed the U.S Congress for the frosty U.S-Russia relationship and the now defunct repeal and replace healthcare bill.

Trump tweeted Thursday morning, “Our relationship with Russia is at an all-time & very dangerous low. You can thank Congress, the same people who can’t even give us Hcare!”?

This comes after the President on Wednesday signed the Russian sanctions bill into law, seemingly against his wishes.  The bipartisan bill which had an overwhelming 98 -2 vote, is to impose new sanctions on Moscow as punishment for interfering in the 2016 presidential election.

The president after signing the bill Wednesday, released two separate  statements. In the first statement he said;

“My administration particularly expects the Congress to refrain from using this flawed bill to hinder our important work with European allies to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, and from using it to hinder our efforts to address any unintended consequences it may have for American businesses, our friends, or our allies”.

In the second statement carrying a slightly different tone,  Trump said he had signed the bill “despite its problems,” and “for the sake of national unity”. The statement also said,“I also support making clear that America will not tolerate interference in our democratic process, and that we will side with our allies and friends against Russian subversion and destabilization”.
