We are rooting for “Dynasty” star Sam Adegoke in the upcoming indie film “8000 Shots”

Sam Adegoke

Sam Adegoke is one of the Nigerian-American actors changing the face of Hollywood. Currently starring as Jeff Colby on CW’s Dynasty reboot, and set in Atlanta in which a large population of Nigerians reside, Adegoke infused a Nigerian flair by speaking Yoruba in a scene with his fictional dad, played by Hakeem Kae-Kazim.

Since then, I have wanted to see Adegoke in a movie. His television work started in 2015 with Graham City and the following year with the now-revived show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Now, per Deadline, Adegoke is set to star in indie film 8000 Shots, written and directed by Talia Lugacy.

The Dynasty star is cast as Will Larue, a combat veteran who served in the Iraq war and loses his friend and fellow vet to suicide, which resurrects his past and forces him to confront the fact that healing from war is not possible.

Rosario Dawson, who previously directed the 2007 drama Descent, will produce 8000 Shots with Lugacy. Adegoke will also star alongside Frances Fisher, who has appeared in numerous film and television projects with her more recent credits including Woman in Gold, Outlaws and Angels, The Expanse, Criminal Minds, and Fargo.

8000 Shots is currently in production, and I’ll be back here to update you on any new development.
