Nicki Minaj opens up about why she featured Davido in her track “If It’s Okay”
This past weekend was enjoyable for Nigerian and Afrobeats music lovers as Nicki Minaj released a single titled “If It’s Okay” featuring Davido and David Guetta off her “The Pinkprint” special edition album.
The Pinkprint album was initially released in 2014, and to celebrate the tenth anniversary, Nicki Minaj added 10 new tracks to the album, one of which features Nigeria’s Davido.
When asked why she chose to feature the Afrobeats star, Nicki Minaj revealed that she just wanted an “Afrobeats feeling”.
“That man is an incredible writer & melody maker. It’s always a pleasure working with him b/c of our mutual respect for one another,” she said.
Okey Bakassi reveals polygamy is the best type of marriage for Africans
Nigerian actor and comedian, Okey Bakassi has shared his opinion on polygamous relationships, debating that it would be the best form of marital commitment in an African environment.
The comedian was hosted on the popular podcast “The Honest Bunch” where he shared his opinion on the matter, stating that monogamy was no longer working and it was best to switch to polygamy.
“We are pretending. Now, what is the difference between polygamy and monogamy? Polygamy says you can marry two people at the same time. Monogamy says you cannot marry them at the same time; you have to let one go. What if you don’t want to let one go?”he said.

Nigerian singer Emoseh Khamoh, popularly known as ‘Bloody Civilian’ has been served with a defamation suit that demands about ₦200 billion in damages by founder of Liberty Gospel Church, Helen Ukpabio.
This past weekend, Bloddy Civilian claimed that Helen was the mastermind of multiple abuse and violence against children back in the day as she allegedly incited people to burn their children in a battle against witchcraft.
The daughter of Helen Ukpabio came on social media to threaten the singer, warming her of grave consequences before Helen’s legal team responded to Bloody Civilian’s tweet, describing it as “reckless, satanic and libelous.”
Wizkid received mixed signals upon the release of his sixth studio album, “Morayo”
Nigerian singer Wizkid released his sixth album this weekend. Though the album has done magnificently well on the charts, Nigerians have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the album.
“Morayo” is a sixteen-track album featuring artists like Brent Faiyaz, Jazmine Sullivan, Asake, Taikola, and Anaïse. The album received mixed signals upon its release this past weekend as Nigerians called out Asake for not giving it his all on the “Bad Girl” track.
The album set the record for debuting at number 1 on the Apple Music Nigeria Chart, and all the tracks were spotted dominating the tracklist.
