A woman in India who was trafficked for the purpose of prostitution has had her breasts chopped off after she refused to co-operate.

The unnamed woman, said to be 24 years of age, was said to have been attacked by the madam of a brothel, her husband, and her cousin.

They cut off her breasts and also smashed her face with a metal bar which led to several of her teeth getting broken.

Inspector Rajan Saste of Kumbharwada-Bhiwandi city police station said:

“The victim, who had been trafficked from Gujarat to the powerloom town (Bhiwandi) and was sold to the brothel, was forced into flesh trade,” said police

“However, when she refused to follow the orders of the brothel operator, her breasts were chopped off.”

The madam of the brothel has been arrested but the other two suspects are still at large.
