The YNaija Ranking: Nathaniel Bassey holds the top spot on our Top 10 Gospel Artiste countdown

Our list for April is out and Nathaniel Bassey has taken the top position, thanks to his newest release “Abba Father”. The worship song is a track off his new album Revival Flames that was released just yesterday. When Bassey spoke of the album, he said, “You will pray, sing, dance and rejoice in the Spirit as you listen to this” and this is exactly what Abba Father offers. It’s a song that exalts God’s holy name and easily leads one to His awesome presence for deep worship.

For you are good, you are kind, you are awesome in all of your ways” is how Eben ushers us into the bridge of high praise song “Lift the name”. The song is bound to be a church praise session favourite because of the fusion of rap and urban sound employed by Eben.

Our number three song for the month of April is by Kike Mudiaga and she features worship leader, Nathaniel Bassey on this one. “Church on Fire” is clarion call for revival and fresh fire upon the church of Christ. Produced by Rotimi Keys, the song uses the trumpet and a heavy choir backup to drive home its message and it succeeds.

Mike Abdul’s “Fun Mi Se” holds the fourth position this month. The refreshing song is a blend of Yoruba and English verses and features OluwaShalom. Abdul brings no less energy on to this one and although it’s a worship song, Fun Mi Se is very enjoyable.

Nathaniel Bassey’s Onise Iyanu remains on the chart but this time on the fifth spot because it will never be old and will never leave our mouths, playlists and hearts.
