Dog kills Gambia’s President-elect Adama Barrow’s son

Gambia’s President-elect Adama Barrow, has lost his eight-year-old to a dog bite, BBC reports.

Habibou Barrow is reported to have died on Sunday in Manjai on the way to the hospital near the Gambian capital Banjul.

Barrow could not attend his son’s funeral as he was advised to remain in Senegal for his safety.

Barrow won the presidential election last year but president Yayha Jammeh has refused to accept the result.

Barrow’s media team confirmed the news to local Gambia news on Monday.

“Yes, Habitou Barrow passed away last night after being bitten by a dog. He was the 8 years old son of Adama Barrow’s second wife. He will be laid to rest today at 2 pm.
