Gambian crisis: Over 45,000 people have fled to Senegal – UN

The United Nations on Friday said over N45,000 people have fled The Gambia as ECOWAS has given former President Yahya Jammeh a deadline to step aside.

“Around 45,000 people are now reported to have arrived in Senegal from The Gambia,” the UN refugee agency said, adding that another “800 people have crossed into Guinea-Bissau.”
