Buhari may have not received list of oil thieves from the US

President Muhammadu Buhari, hasn’t been given the list of crude oil thieves, by the government of the United States.

It was widely reported in the media that the US government had given Buhari two separate lists containing the names of corrupt Nigerians and top government officials who had been stealing the country’s oil and the other containing the identity of illegal oil bunkerers.

Punch Newspapers, however reports that the United States did not give any list to Buhari during his visit to Washington in July, 2015.

The report says that US embassy sources disclosed that they had no knowledge of documents exchanging hands between American officials and the President during the visit.

The source was quoted to have said: “Though President Buhari engaged in discussions on various issues with the US President Barack Obama, there was no exchange of documents between them.”

When Punch reached out to the US embassy in Abuja, Press Attaché, Sean McIntosh, refused to comment on the matter.
