YNaija Poll: What Nigerians think about Innoson Motors

Automobile manufacturer, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM), is the premiere private vehicle manufacturing company in Nigeria.

The indigenous company, headquartered in Nnewi, Anambra state, was commissioned by Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 and has since gone on to produce several range of vehicles from Trucks, SUVs to mini-buses.

Earlier today, YNaija reported that Innoson was commissioned to produce some components and parts for Alpha jets used by the Nigerian Air Force.

Innoson had ‘helped to locally modify and overhaul the brake assembly of the MB-339 aircraft for adoption on the Alpha Jets’ and also ‘helped for the continued operation of the Alpha Jets, and had helped to save the day when help was not forthcoming from abroad’.

For the past two days, Innoson has trended on Twitter, with Nigerians expressing varying opinions on the vehicle manufacturer.

To ascertain the standpoint of Nigerians to the possibility of purchasing locally made cars, YNaija, on Tuesday, conducted a poll on Twitter.

60% of the Nigerian Twitter Netizens who participated in the poll, said they would buy a made in Nigeria Innoson car, while 20% said they won’t make such a leap just yet.

However, the remaining 20% of the participants of the poll, expressed disbelief that Nigeria actually manufactures vehicles.
