#FACupFinal: Manchester United win first trophy in 3 years

Manchester United has won the 2016 edition of the English FA Cup – thanks to a fantastic Jesse Lingard extra-time winner against Crystal Palace tonight at Wembley Stadium.

It was a keenly-contested match as Manchester United went down 1-0 after the 78th minute near-post strike from Palace’s substitute Jason Puncheon hit the back of the net.

The Red Devils didn’t wait long to reply as 3 minutes later, Juan Mata‘s deflected shot went in through the legs of Palace defender, Joel Ward – leaving goalkeeper, Wayne Hennessy helpless after going the wrong way.

The game then went into extra-time as both teams sought a winning goal – with Palace substitute Chris Gayle almost clinching victory for his side, only for United’s goalie, De Gea to save the effort with his legs.

Manchester United’s Chris Smalling got sent off after he saw a second yellow card following a foul on Yannick Bolasie.

Manchester United’s substitute Jesse Lingard then scored the winner in the 110th minute through a well struck-effort which skipped past everyone to hit the left top corner of the net.

Van Gaal‘s men have now sealed their first silverware in three years as the game ended 2-1 over Alan Pardew‘s men.
