14 people die as 2 suicide bombers hit military checkpoint

14 people including two members of Civilian Joint Task Force, have been killed in a suicide attack in Biu, Borno state.

Two suicide bombers, riding in a tricycle, popularly called Keke Napep, detonated body-fitted Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), as they rammed into a military checkpoints along Miringa- Biu road.

The bombing was said to have occurred around 1pm on Tuesday, February 17.

Apart from the two civilian JTF members killed, the other casualties from the attack are believed to be hawkers.
