Another aviation catastrophe was averted yesterday in Lagos as a Turkish Airline aircraft reportedly collided with a Max Air plane which was laden with Muslim pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia.
The incident occurred at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, which was recently the scene of the fatal Associated Airlines crash.
According to scanty details available, the wing of the Turkish Airline craft collided with that of the Max Air plane when the former was attempting to taxi to a stop.
The incident caused minor damages to both planes which were immediately taken away for repairs.
Spokesman of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, confirmed the incident. He described damages to the aircraft as minor.
