After 3 dirty copies, Buhari to receive ‘clean’ 2016 budget today

#TheNewsIn5Lines:

At this point, even a deaf mute would be aware of the seemingly endless back and forth between President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly over the 2016 budget.

After submitting the document to the federal lawmakers in December 2015, the nation’s Ministers were called to defend their budgets but they simply couldn’t – as many claimed to have found strange figures in the budget.

Consequently, a re-work was carried out on it by the National Assembly, after which it was sent back to the Presidency.

Upon arrival at the presidency, strange figures were again discovered to have been included by the lawmakers, while some other allocations were allegedly removed and/or re-assigned.

Again, the president refused to assent to the 2016 Appropriation Bill and sent it back to the lawmakers for a further re-work.

What now: The Personal Assistant to President Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, says a ‘clean copy’ is expected to be delivered to his principal today.
