Since it’s not over yet, here are 4 ways Kemen can save himself from further ridicule

There’s a shit show going on on Twitter NG and we waited one long week for it.

The moment the Kemen/TBoss sexual assault issue would be brought back to the fore after TBoss’ arrival into the country. Last week was filled with lights, camera and plenty action for the finalists and it almost looked like everything that surrounds that defining moment in the Big Brother house had been buried for good. But we silently prayed someone would raise the issue again and Comedian AY recklessly played into our hands with that dead joke he told at his show on Sunday.

Many Nigerians have again weighed in on the issue and unlike the time of the occurrence of the incident, more people are advocating forgiveness for Kemen. It’s been well over five weeks, Kemen has apologized so maybe it’s high time we all moved on.

Kemen has been caught in a really bad situation and now things have gone worse all thanks to the insensitive comedy master who was powered by the desperate desire to make his audience laugh. He can’t take that back but here are a few ways we think Kemen can save himself from further ridicule:

  1. He needs to shut up: By shutting up, we mean staying away from making unsolicited comments in public. Just recently, TBoss’ sister, Wendy Idowu took to Instagram to express that Kemen’s apology was not enough and we think she had every right to speak like that, her sister was the victim. But foolish Kemen still had the guts to go into Wendy’s comment section to threaten her to take any action she pleases. Dude, do you not have any discretion?

2. Avoid making public appearances: Kemen needs to stay away from the limelight for a bit; the more we see him jumping from party to party, the more riled up some of us get about the entire issue. And to think that TBoss also has to be at some of those events too and has to cope with his presence. It must be difficult for her and the organisers of Big Brother Naija have failed in this regard. Kemen was disqualified for sexually harassing another contestant and it hasn’t all gone away and it won’t, for a long time. He deserves to be ostracized from that group, not permanently but for a time frame that will allow him also to work on rebuilding his image.

3. Publicly apologise to TBoss: For those who keep going over the fact that Kemen has apologised, you must have missed this interview where he explicitly denied harassing TBoss. In the interview, he also alluded to the fact that TBoss may have lied about what happened that night. He’s been ill-mannered in every way and this speaks volumes about his personality and claims of innocence. The only way out for Kemen is to sit with TBoss in another interview session and apologize for his actions in the house and every reaction that has followed.

4. Actively participate in anti-rape campaigns: A bit extra we know but this might finally help Kemen get back on track by opening his eyes to the realities of sexual crimes against women. The goal is to get him to the point of sobriety, something he’d never achieve if the social media rallying he’s currently getting continues. Hopefully also, this will help him get him in the good books of the few who are still incredibly mad at him.
