Yunusa ‘Yellow’ Dahiru, the young man alleged to have kidnapped 14 years old Ese Oruru, converted her to Islam and forcefully married her, says his life is being threatened in jail.
According to the Leadership, Yinusa who is currently in police detention at the State Police Command in Bayelsa state, made this known through some Muslim Youths who visited him in police custody.
Yunusa said he’s under constant threat from other inmates and indigenes of the state.
Abdullahi Muhammad, a Muslim and resident of Bayelsa state, claimed that he had visited Yunusa in police custody and that he was subjected to unspeakable verbal assaults by inmates and other Bayelsa indigenes.
“As such he cried out that his life is been threatened,” Muhammad stated.
“We call on the Inspector-General of Police,Solomon Arase to expedite action on alleged charges against Yinusa and allow him access to Legal representation and good prison Environment. He is not guilty Until a court pronounce him so. They should not kill him before his time.”
