US Attorney General, Jeff Sessions just concluded his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. Here are key moments from the testimony:

1. Senator Martin Heinrich accused him of obstruction

“You are obstructing that congressional investigation by not answering these questions.”

“I think your silence, like the silence of Director Coats, like the silence of Admiral Rogers, speaks volumes,”

2. Jeff Sessions claims there are no undisclosed reasons for recusing himself from the Russian Investigation

He made this known after Sen. Ron Wyden asked him “The question is Mr. Comey said that there were matters with respect to the recusal that were problematic, and he couldn’t talk about them. What are they?”

“There are none, Senator Wyden. There are none. I can tell you that for absolute certainty,” Sessions said. “Why don’t you tell me? This is a secret innuendo being leaked out there about me, and I don’t appreciate it.” He added.

3. Jeff Sessions confirms his confidence in Special Counsel Mueller

“I have confidence in Mr. Mueller.” He said during the testimony

4. Sessions called Russian allegations a detestable lie

“I did not have any private meetings nor do I recall any conversations with any Russian officials at the Mayflower Hotel. The suggestion that I participated in any collusion, that I was aware of any collusion with the Russian government to hurt this country … or to undermine the integrity of our democratic process is an appalling and detestable lie.” He said.

5. Sessions said he didn’t communicate with the Russians

“I did not have communications with the Russians.” He said.

“I was taken aback by that explosive allegation, which he said was being reported as breaking news that very day, in which I had not heard, I wanted to refute that immediately, any suggestion that I was part of such an activity.” He said.
