In recent time, several cases of child defilement have been reported in several parts of the country.
In another bizarre case of child molestation, a 9-year-old girl-child was supposedly raped by a 36-year-old man.
The suspect, Ahmed Sule, has been arraigned before a High court, sitting in Jigawa, by the state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
He allegedly defiled the girl, sometime last week, in Kuden Gabas village in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.
The state Commandant NSCDC, Dr. Muhammad Gidado Fari, confirmed the arrest, saying that the command arraigned the suspect under Section 283 of Penal Code laws of Jigawa State.
The case has been adjourned to 4 December 2014.
