A schoolboy has been suspended after threatening to turn a fellow student invisible with the ‘One Ring’ from J R R Tolkien’s ‘Lord of the Rings’.
Aiden Steward, nine, was suspended from Kermit Elementary School in Kermit,Texas after being overheard making his ‘threat’.
His father, Jason Steward told the New York Daily News: ‘Kids act out movies that they see – When I watched Superman as a kid, I went outside and tried to fly.
‘I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence. If he did, I’m sure he’d bring him right back.’
The school’s principal, Roxanne Greer, did not comment in the story saying: ‘All student stuff is confidential.’
In the world of Lord of the Rings, the ‘One Ring’ is a powerful magical object created by evil dark lord Sauron to help him subdue the whole of Middle Earth.
For all other users of this ring, it turns them invisible while also corrupting their souls and elongating their lifespan.
Let’s hope Aiden learns from the lessons of Frodo Baggins…
