Osun lawmaker wants Buhari to revive War Against Indiscipline

During the Buhari/Idiagbon regime, the country experienced discipline in all aspect and there was little or no corruption in the country.

In light of this, while reminiscing, a member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to set up machinery that will fight social disorder, indiscipline and all forms of anarchy in the country.

He said also urged the Buhari to renew the pursuit of civil discipline, which would respect the rights of Nigerians as well as demand action from them.

Oyintiloye, who is representing Obokun State Constituency, in a statement on Saturday, noted that the most effective way to curb corruption among the new generation was to revive and instill discipline in the youths of the country.

Oyintiloye said if the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) of the Buhari/Idiagbon regime of 1981 had been sustained by successive administrations, the plague of indiscipline among the teeming population would have been successfully curtailed.

He stated that the corruption that has invaded all aspect of lives was a form of indiscipline that had become part of the social order in almost three decades adding that a subtle campaign against indiscipline would go a long way in curbing the menace.

“It is important for all of us to realise that our society is suffering from lack of discipline and this has eaten deep into all sectors. This is one of the primary problems facing Nigeria as a nation as most people do not see corruption as an social vices that most be corrected.

“The issue is that we must all agree that we have an issue with discipline among the population and I will be of the opinion that a civil discipline corps should be put in place to revive the culture of discipline among our teeming youth population,” Oyintiloye said.
