“I don’t really know her” –Seyi Shay denies relationship with Tiwa Savage on Rubbin’ Minds

Those words uttered on March 20 2016, shook Nigerian social media as most people were bemused that the Right Now singer could deny knowing Tiwa Savage on national television.

How was this possible? Many asked. Is she trying to feel snooty? Was there something she wasn’t saying?

A month later and the last interview Tiwa Savage had before her marital issues hit the fan, surfaced online.

She was asked about her relationship with Seyi, her fellow Pepsi ambassador and she dribbled her way out of the question by not acknowledging the Irawo singer but rather chose to heap praise on the soda brand’s newest ambassador – Davido.

She told the interviewer: “You are so…ugh…having an interview with this girl is crazy. See I knew you were going to drop this in anyway, everybody has heard! What? Am I happy for Davido? Of course. I love him. He’s absolutely fantastic.”

Seyi Shay then went on her Instagram page to express how heartbroken she was by the ‘snub’ from the Mavin singer.

Subsequently, an interview from 2013, appeared online  – where Seyi Shay said her and Tiwa Savage were like sisters.

In the video, she also spoke about a little misunderstanding between them when they shared the same producer Harmony ‘H-Money’ Samuels.

It then beats one’s imagination why these ‘sisters’ suddenly don’t know each other anymore.

There is certainly something Tiwa and Seyi aren’t saying and they aren’t leaving any clues either.
