We have your receipts: Ibrahim Nakande, it’s Tuesday oh, and President Buhari is still not back

You know how several individuals and groups have been holding prayer sessions in and around various States for the well-being of President Muhammadu Buhari since his February 5th indefinite extension of his vacation. So, last weekend, the former Minister of State for Information, Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande organised his own special prayer session for quick recovery of the President at the Jos Central mosque in Plateau State.

After the session, without prompting, Mr Nakande said:

“From the information I gathered, President Buhari is hale and sound and may come back today [Sunday] or tomorrow [Monday].  All what is needed from us is prayer for the full recovery and God’s guidance for the president to deliver his campaign promises. Those wishing the president dead do not mean well for Nigeria. It is only Buhari that can take this nation out of the mess it found itself”

The last time we heard from the former Minister was when he tried to explain to Nigerians the difference between a minister and a Minister of State when he said the minister of state functions as a junior to the minister in running the affairs of the ministry and in the implementation of policies of government handled by the ministry. This was way back in 2015.

We did not know what to make of his assertion on Saturday because there’s no report of him having talked to the President but we gave him the benefit of the doubt. Our belief shook a bit on Monday but we didn’t give in.

Now it’s Tuesday now and Muhammadu Buhari is still not back. It appears Mr Nakande’s sources tricked him.

Or was it Mr Nakande who tricked us?
