House Speaker Paul Ryan has described the airstrikes launched by the US military as “just and appropriate”.

Ryan said Assad must be held accountable for his actions in Syria and his enablers must change course.

He urged the Donald Trump administration to meet with Congress to hold further discussions on the matter.
