The city of Port Harcourt has been gripped by a spate of killing targeting women in hotels, perpetuated by a serial killer on the loose. And although it seemed the police have been nonchalant about the carrying out an elaborate investigation, attributing these murders to prostitution, three suspects linked to the case have arrested by the police.
A woman was rescued by police who arrested a man in the city on Wednesday after he attempted to strangle her while she slept in a hotel room they shared, police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni told CNN.
CBN has approved charges on deposits and withdrawals above N500,000
In a circular issued to all deposit money banks, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved the charges for withdrawals and deposits above N500,000 for individuals and N3m for corporate organisations in line with the implementation of the cashless policy.

Second batch of 319 Nigerian returnees have departed South Africa
Kimiebi Ebenfa, an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the departure of second batch of Nigerians from O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. According to Ebenfa, 319 persons were evacuated by Air Peace at about 2:58 p.m.
South Africa apologizes to Nigeria over recent xenophobia attacks
South Africa has apologised to Nigeria over a spate of xenophobic attacks which led to a spike in tensions between the two countries. Twelve people were killed earlier this month when mobs attacked foreign-owned businesses, mainly in Johannesburg.
