[The Alausa Blog]: Local Government election results to be declared at collation centers

The Chairman, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Hon. Justice Ayotunde Phillips has said that results of elections into Chairmanship and Councillorship posts in the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State scheduled for Saturday, 22nd July 2017 will be announced at the Local Government/ Local Council Development Area Collation Centres and Ward Collation Centres respectively.

Justice Phillips made this known while speaking with some stakeholders on the preparations of the Commission for the elections.

She stressed that the Commission would, however, monitor developments at the various Collation Centres and other locations in the State through reports sent to the Election Support Centre at the headquarters by field officers of the Commission.

Meanwhile, the Commission has continued the deployment of non-sensitive materials to the Electoral Officers in the 57 Local Governments/ Local Council Development Areas of the State in preparation for the elections.

With the early deployment of the materials to the Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, the Commission intends to eliminate any delay that could militate against the smooth conduct of the elections on Saturday.

The Electoral Officers are expected to distribute the materials to Supervisory Presiding Officers in their Local Governments/ Local Council Development Areas who will, in turn, distribute the materials to the Presiding Officers for the conduct of the elections.
