Chelsea are close to signing Alvaro Morata, Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The Premier League champions have apparently wasted no time in resolving their search for a new lead striker to replace Diego Costa, having succeeded in making Antonio Conte stay.

This deal would end speculation that they could move for Andrea Belotti, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexis Sanchez or even Sergio Aguero.

It remains to be seen how much Madrid stand to receive for Morata with Manchester United reportedly put off by his €70 million price tag.
