by Wilfred Okiche

Sunday 31st July will witness the grand premiere of yet another Nollywood heavy hitter. Award winning actress Uche Jombo is set to premiere “Damage”, the first film from her eponymous studios at the Silverbird Galleria Lagos. The thrilling movie tells the story of love and the pain of domestic violence in a way never before seen in a Nollywood film.

A couple, (played by Kalu Ikeagwu & Uche Jombo) love each other immensely, yet fight violently on a daily basis. The psychological damage on their immediate family is fully explored in the film.

Co-stars in the trilogy of films that also includes “My Life, My Damage” and “My Country, Their Damage” include Tonto Dikeh and Basorge Tariah Jr. The trilogy of films is a collection of three distinct, yet interwoven stories aimed at social advocacy.

Speaking on the film, Uche said “The damage movies are unique and stand to correct societal ills, but beyond the storyline and qualitative nature of the movies, I am a Nigerian brand and anything I do represents Nigeria in one way or the other.”

The opening scene of the movie is accompanied by a recognition award for young Nigerian entertainers and brands such as M.I, AY,  2Face, OUCH! and  Emem Isong among others.
