The All Progressives Congress (APC) of Bebeji local government chapter of Kano state has expelled Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin over alleged anti-party activities.
Chairman of the party, Sani Kanti Garka while addressing a press conference on Thursday said Jibrin created divisions in the party.
Garka said, “Kofa was accused of creating divisions in the party at local government, forming a parallel APC leadership in Bebeji and 14 wards, sabotaging Ganduje-led government and disloyalty to APC national leadership by sabotaging Buhari-led administration.”
He added that the lawmaker was unable to defend himself before a 5-man committee.
“The 5-man committee led by Alhaji Musa Namadi has contacted the expelled lawmaker twice on the 11th and 13th of June to hear his own version but he failed to defend himself. He listened to the committee on the 11th June but refused to listen to it on the 13th.
“As a result of that the committee therefore filed its reports and submitted same to the party on the 15th June, 2017 for further actions. After it has gone through the report, the party was left with no option than to expel Kofa because it will not condone such attitude from any of its members. All party members must abide by its rules and regulations at all levels,” he said.
Jibrin was suspended from the House of Representatives for one legislative year over his budget padding allegations.
