An armless man died on the spot in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on Saturday when he fell from a moving train.
The tragic incident occurred at about 9:10am around Post Office area, GRA, Ilorin when the Lagos to Kano train took off from the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) station in Ilorin.
The victim was said to be traveling to Kano for the forthcoming Sallah celebration when the incident occurred.
The Station Manager, NRC, Ilorin, Godwin Ehinziyore who confirmed the incident to journalists on Saturday said the station had warned that no passenger should hang on the train.
Ehinziyore explained that the warning had been repeatedly made in Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa languages to the effect that hanging on a moving train was risky.
He said the corporation could not be held responsible for whatever happens to illegal passengers who choose to hang on the train.
He, however, said the corpse of the victim had been deposited in a mortuary in Ilorin by the officials of the corporation.
