A former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, is of the opinion that President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration is the most corrupt in the history of Nigeria.
He also enjoined President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to comprehensively probe Jonathan after his inauguration on May 29.
Musa, who had opposed Buhari’s 2015 presidential ambition, spoke with our correspondent in a telephone interview.
While speaking to Punch Newspapers on Wednesday, May 13, he said: “The situation in the country is beyond any individual. It requires a revolutionary leader, a party and a credible party leadership which do not exist anywhere in Nigeria at the moment.”
“As regards speculations of a feud between Buhari and Tinubu, I don’t think there would be any. I pray that in terms of political appointments, both would have a good way of resolving their differences. Tinubu consistently assisted in the formation of the alliance. He deserves credit for that.”
“If the PDP had insisted that it won the 2015 general elections, the country would have been in crisis and there would have been either a civil war, military coup or a social revolution. Instead of committing political suicide, the party decided to withdraw and fight another day.”
“In terms of fighting corruption, Buhari should not spare President Goodluck Jonathan. His anti-corruption agenda should not be selective. The Jonathan administration is the worst in terms of corruption in this country, maybe because the administration had so much money to spend.”
